This is the end

Unluckily, we have come to the end of our Comenius project. We have had two years packed with completely amazing experiences. We have learnt a lot, we have made a lot of new friends and we have travelled around Europe. But the most important thing, our students and us have learnt how to be active citizens and doing good for the others without asking for anything in return.

To put an end to these great two years, here is a video which compiles all those experiences. I hope you like it.
GOODBYE AND THANK YOU TO ALL THE TEACHERS AND STUDENTS WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN THIS PROJECT!

Welsh Volunteering Poem

Chorus

Charity work is so cool

Let’s go and save – it’s the rule,

We’ll volunteer with other schools

Help each other, don’t be fools

Teamwork’s the best, better than the rest

C’mon now, we’re on a quest,

Pick up trash in a flash

Before you get a red rash

Volunteering is so much fun

Let’s help out and have some sun

On the beach we’ll clean some trash

Come on let’s go and have a bash

Pick up all the garbage if you can

Let’s all meet and make a plan

For the planet keep it green

Come on people, keep it clean

Teamwork raises lots of money

Please give dough, it’s so funny

We give our time, it is free

We’ll change this world, wait and see

Comenius Meeting in Elblag, Poland.

Between the 21st and the 26th of April, we celebrated our new meeting in Elblag, Poland. The Polish school organized everything perfectly well. On the first day we visited the school. We had a walk around it and saw how it works.

Later on, we had a guided tour around Elblag, a very nice town.

At night we had dinner at "Celebra" where Jurek had a very nice surprise for us. The dessert had the logo of our Comenius Project.

On the next day, we visited Stuthoff Concentration Camp. It was really shocking to see the conditions in which the nazis kept people and made them work as prisoners to end up being burnt at the crematorium. It was an incredible experience.

Later on we went to the beach in the Baltic Sea where we enjoyed a very sunny day.

On the next day, we went to Malbork and visited its huge and amazing castle where we played a game in which the participants had to follow some hints to get to the exit. At the end of the game, we enjoyed a bonfire with sausages. We enjoyed it very much.

And on the last day we visited Gdansk which really surprised us because of its beauty.

Thank you very much to Jurek for a perfect organization.

A letter in the jar

Hello
One of the Polish student had found the letter in the jar while we we cleaning the waste dump in Odense.
Here it is:

When your dreams start to seem so impossible,
when roadblocks are all you can see,
look beyond all the problems that face you
and focus on possibilities.

Don’t limit your thoughts to the present
or solutions you have learned from the past.
Remember to keep looking forward -
you may find the answer at last.

It is you who determines your future;
how your journey through tomorrow will be.
To fill all your days with adventure,
dare to see what no one else dares to see.

So never let obstacles stop you
or keep you from doing your part.
Have faith that your dreams are all possible,
if you truly believe in your heart.

***

Treat the earth well.
It was not given to you by your parents.
It was loaned to you by your children.
We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.

Cherokee Prayer Blessing

May the Warm Winds of Heaven
Blow softly upon your house.
May the Great Spirit
Bless all who enter there.
May your Mocassins
Make happy tracks
in many snows,
and may the Rainbow
Always touch your shoulder.
